ABOUT ME

I discovered ceramics during my maternity leave in 2020, when a friend and I joined an intensive course at ABF. Although the pottery wheel was quite challenging at first, there was something about ceramics that kept drawing me back. After a year of courses and self-study, I found a mentor in ceramicist Pernilla Norrman through the Hantverkslärling Foundation. Over two years of apprenticeship and countless hours at the wheel, I graduated in 2024 with a self-designed tableware collection as my final project.

The most important lesson I’ve learned is to approach both clay and the craft with humility. I continue to explore both clay and myself as a ceramicist and see this ancient craft as a lifelong learning process. Today, I run a small-scale ceramics business in Malmö, where I offer courses, workshops, and handmade ceramic pieces.

THE PROCESS

My creative process is mostly intuitive. Sometimes I start with a clear plan and a sketch with precise measurements, but most of the time it just happens. I see a shape in my mind and feel the urge to create it. However, the process often takes me in a completely different direction, and I end up with something unexpected.

I’m driven by my love for beautiful objects and the desire to surround myself with them. I’m particularly passionate about vases, finding endless possibilities in their creation. My greatest source of inspiration comes from visiting antique collections in museums, where I’m drawn to the timeless shapes and expressions that repeat throughout history.

I aim to create objects that people can cherish and seamlessly integrate into their daily lives. It doesn’t have to be a grand, extravagant sculpture or pot—it could be something as simple as a breakfast cup or a teapot, used daily and loved without much thought.
